BFSA's laboratory technicians have the expertise necessary to correctly identify and analyze a wide variety of cultural materials. The close examination of artifacts, bone, and other materials greatly aids the evaluation process. Analyses that are performed in-house include faunal, paleontological, lithic, historic artifact, and macrofloral studies. BFSA commonly contracts for radiocarbon, obsidian sourcing and hydration, microfloral, and protein studies with qualified professionals.
