Brian F. Smith and Associates (BFSA) offers consulting services pertaining to all aspects of cultural resource investigations and environmental review documents. The combined experience of the principal associates represents over 75 years of involvement in the study of the history and prehistory of the west. BFSA was founded in 1977 and has focused on cultural resource management encompassing all aspects of local, state, and federal regulations.

The company is wholly owned by Brian F. Smith, who also directs the day-to-day operations of the company and is responsible for all financial and contractual matters related to the firm. Our firm employs over 30 professional archaeologists, historians, paleontologists, and support staff. BFSA's capabilities are highlighted by the range of current projects, including archaeological surveys, archaeological site and structure evaluations, construction monitoring, and data recovery mitigation programs.

We at BFSA are dedicated to the study of the cultural heritage of the west. We are committed to excellence in conducting cultural resource evaluations in order that such resources may be correctly identified and professionally and accurately analyzed for significance. We pride ourselves in the timely and cost-effective completion of projects of all sizes and parameters. Our firm has a long record of interaction with governmental agencies at all levels, as well as experience in public hearings, which has resulted in wide recognition of the firm in the field of cultural resource management.
